We are excited to be seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails software developer to contribute to the development of a platform that will increase the use of low-carbon, sustainable building products in commercial real estate projects globally. ABOUT TANGIBLEBuilding materials are responsible for approximately 11% of all global greenhouse gas emissions, and real estate development firms are facing increasing investor pressure, regulations, and tenant demand to build more sustainably.Tangible is a software platform for real estate developers and general contractors to measure, understand, and reduce the embodied carbon of developments portfolio-wide.ABOUT THE ROLELocation: Fully remote or hybrid in San Francisco What you bring:<ul><li>You are product-minded builder with a proven track record of architecting &amp; building complex web applications </li><li>You have demonstrated experience with Ruby on Rails. </li><li>You have deep expertise with complex database schemas and integration with them using ActiveRecord and SQL. </li><li>You’re familiar with the demands of building products in a startup environment and comfortable with ambiguity</li><li>You are deeply passionate about putting your skills to work to address climate change and eager to join an ambitious, fun-loving, and radically caring team that imagines the world as it should be rather than as it is</li><li>You’ve been building software for at least 5 years</li></ul>Some of the things you’ll be working on:<ul><li>Architecting the commercial real estate &amp; construction platform that will prevent the emission of millions of kilograms of CO2.</li><li>Designing, building, testing, deploying and operating a rapidly scaling web application using Ruby on Rails &amp; React</li><li>Ingesting 3D models of buildings to measure and optimize the carbon related to the construction of the building.</li><li>Using ML / AI to rapidly solve problems in the real estate &amp; construction industries</li><li>Evolving our database of building materials, manufacturers, commercial real estate projects and their carbon footprints, material health impacts, costs, and more</li><li>Developing integrations with other software platforms across construction, design, procurement, and reporting; e.g., Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and carbon accounting platforms</li><li>Collaborating with UX, Product, Research and our founding team to build the product.</li></ul>BENEFITS
