Your work will directly impact removal of more than 30% of the world's carbon emissions produced by heavy industry.    Roles &amp; Responsibilities <ul><li>Manage and lead a team of hardware engineers and CAD designers responsible for the design and performance of Antora’s thermal battery.</li><li>Lead and support team growth by hiring an awesome team. </li><li>Allocate people resources to support multiple design projects based on priorities. </li><li>Support team members as they take on hardware development for subsystems and components from basic architecture evaluations through conceptual, analysis, detailed design, prototype, test, and manufacturing release phases.</li><li>Lead and/or support key initiatives such as cost-down, reliability, root-cause analysis, testing, etc. </li><li>Mentoring (technical and non-technical) of more junior team members.</li><li>Help set and maintain a strong and healthy team culture.</li></ul> Key Qualifications <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, 10+ years relevant experience (power generation, aerospace, propulsion, etc.).</li><li>Experience directly managing a technical team through product development cycles focused on cost reduction, manufacturability, and production scale-up in a startup environment.</li><li>Strong experience with CAD and best practices for engineering drawings (GD&amp;T, ASME Y14.5).</li><li>Professional experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software, e.g. ANSYS. </li><li>Experience developing and delivering hardware products as the responsible mechanical design engineer.</li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in designing for common manufacturing processes like welding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, etc for low-mid volume production. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li></ul> Additional Qualifications Desired <ul><li>Deep experience in heat transfer (conduction, convection, radiation), fluids, structural, materials, or design.</li><li>Ability to evaluate systems level architectural decisions to inform key trade-offs.</li></ul> Work Location:  Onsite - San Jose, CASalary Range:  $204,000 USD - $265,000 USDSalary Basis:  AnnualPlease note that the salary range listed above reflects Antora Energy's estimated pay for this position.
