Software Engineer

This includes factory acceptance testing of natural gas generators and deploying on-site microgrid controllers and network devices to communicate, configure, and control distributed energy resources and microgrid assets – such as solar, energy storage, switchgear, and reciprocating engines.</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size:12pt;">The role is ideally based in the NJ Tri-State area (NY/NJ/CT) or California. Field Controls Engineer

<div><b style="font-size:12pt;">The Role</b></div><div><span style="font-size:12pt;">We are looking for a Manager of Development Engineering to lead a team that provides comprehensive development engineering support for our distributed energy, front-of-meter, and microgrid projects. This highly visible and strategic role will be exposed to all finance-related aspects of the business as we continue to build out the FP&amp;A function and will be crucial in providing insights that shape decision-making and improve financial performance as we continue to grow. This role reports to the CFO and is a hybrid role based in our Ridgewood, NJ headquarters.</span></div><br><br><h3>Key responsibilities will include:</h3><ul><li>Lead the annual budget, forecast, and pluriannual financial planning processes</li><li>Develop, manage, and maintain financial models, long-term forecasts, and scenario analysis</li><li>Support the monthly reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation, while providing explanations for variances vs budget and vs previous year</li><li>Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements that will lead to cost reduction, revenue generation, and streamlining of operations</li><li>Partner with department heads to track financial performance vs budget</li><li>Implement, optimize, and automate FP&amp;A tools, dashboards, and reporting to improve financial visibility</li><li>Prepare presentations for Board meetings and the Executive Leadership Team</li><li>Support the CFO with ad hoc requests and analysis</li><li>Additional duties as required</li></ul><h3>The Ideal Candidate</h3><ul><li>5 + years of experience in FP&amp;A, Finance or Accounting areas, preferably at a renewable energy company</li><li>Significant analytical skillset, including utilizing Power BI and reporting tools with extensive knowledge in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, modeling, etc.). Experience in NetSuite is a plus</li><li>Possess a high level of commercial acumen, able to think and act strategically but also be a hands-on problem solver with exceptional analytical skills</li><li>Experienced in managing project-based revenue, budgets, and projections</li><li>High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability; keen to take ownership</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with senior stakeholders across the business in a cross-functional team environment </li><li>Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, managing time effectively to meet objectives</li><li>Experienced in presenting extensive data and reporting to Executive teams </li><li>Energy industry experience or experience with power purchase agreements and energy service agreement financial structures is a plus</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in finance or related area is required; MBA is highly preferred</li></ul><br><div><span style="font-size:12pt;">This is a great opportunity to have a long-term impact on a fast-paced, private equity backed growth business.
