<p>The Southern Environmental Law Center is seeking an&nbsp;<strong><em>Accounts Payable Coordinator</em></strong>&nbsp;in our Charlottesville, VA headquarters office. Reporting to our Controller, this person will join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful, nationally recognized organization that is effectively addressing some of the most pressing and challenging environmental issues throughout the South and the nation.&nbsp;</p>
<p>SELC has a hybrid work model that offers employees the flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week.&nbsp; This is a full-time, non-exempt position.&nbsp; Employment is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check and employment credit check. &nbsp;</p>
<h4 id="h-primary-responsibilities-nbsp" class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong>&nbsp;</h4>
<ul>
<li>Process invoice payments, review credit card and expense transactions on a timely basis, and assist staff with finance processes and procedures.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Manage prepayment accounts and expensing on a monthly basis.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Manage vendor relationships, including handling inquiries and resolving discrepancies.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintain a well-organized electronic filing system for all relevant finance documents and communications.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Run reports and assist in reporting procedures &ndash; weekly expense, 1099, tax, lobbying, and ad-hoc finance reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Train new staff in finance and expense procedures/policies. Create and maintain FAQ or other training resources.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Participate and assist in annual financial audit and budget processes, as needed.</li>
<li>Support SELC&rsquo;s Controller and Accounting Manager. &nbsp;</li>
</ul>
<h4 id="h-nbsp-required-qualifications-nbsp-nbsp" class="wp-block-heading"> &nbsp;<strong>Required Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</h4>
<ul>
<li>An associate or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting or related field of study. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience with general ledger coding, accruals and month-end closing processes.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. Adept at working with staff on finance policies, procedures, and general day-to-day needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>Interest in a career in Finance &amp; Accounting. &nbsp;</li>

<h4 id="h-compensation-amp-benefits-nbsp-nbsp" class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits:</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</h4>
<p>SELC offers salaries competitive with other leading environmental nonprofits nationally and provides an excellent benefits package. The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 &ndash; $70,000 commensurate with experience. <p>SELC is a PSLF (<a href="https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation/public-service" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Public Service Loan Forgiveness</a>) eligible employer.  &nbsp;</p>
<p>SELC will also provide relocation reimbursement for those relocating for an SELC position, up to a specific dollar amount and contingent on the move being at least 50 miles from the current primary address.&nbsp;</p>
