This role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in manufacturing processes, supplier interactions, and overall product integrity. This is a very hands-on position, working alongside technicians and interns on the floor to design, schedule, execute, and report the results of the tests on zinc-air battery cells.</p><h2><strong>Position Scope and Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Conduct standard testing on zinc-air battery cells, including charge-discharge cycles, while collecting relevant data.</li><li>Work directly with technicians on the floor to execute hands-on testing and objectively document testing incidents and other relevant observations.</li><li>Comfortable working with various dangerous materials, including corrosive liquids.</li><li>Collect, analyze, and report test data while ensuring accuracy and reliability.</li><li>Participate in or lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, Red-X, and Six Sigma to identify root cause(s) and drive issue resolution.</li><li>Expert knowledge and practical application of why analysis, Ishikawa diagram, is/is-not, and other problem analysis tools.</li><li>Evaluate non-standard test requests for relevancy and recommend changes to the test flow to accomplish the goals of the tests. Act as a gatekeeper to only conduct value-added activities.</li><li>Ensure all testing activities align with agreed-upon acceptance criteria and maintain objectivity in reporting.</li><li>Maintain and calibrate (or schedule calibration with external services) test equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&amp;D, quality, and manufacturing, to support product development and validation.</li><li>Adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices in battery module testing.</li></ul><h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>Prior experience in testing electro-mechanical systems, battery modules, or battery packs.</li><li>Prior experience working in an IATF 16949 environment would be an asset.
