Job Details <ul><li>Job Title:  Asia Communications Manager</li><li>Reports To: Managing Director, Asia</li><li>Location of Position: Shanghai (preferred) or remotely in China</li><li>Hours: 20-40 hours per week </li></ul> Responsibilities <ul><li>Develop and implement key communication strategies and interventions, working with the Managing Director, Asia, the ProVeg China team and the international teams </li><li>Through effective and targeted communication strategies, drive programs and campaigns that change behaviours of the public, institutions, retailers and other associated stakeholders.</li><li>Develop pitches, press releases, blogs, articles and other communication materials in Chinese and English as required. </li><li>Organise press conferences</li><li>Bring in and grow relationships with media and digital influencers. </li><li>Supervise and manage the social media accounts in Asia including WeChat, RED,  Instagram and more </li><li>Ensure media and outward-facing communications and assets are proofed, on strategy aligned and effectively tailored to audiences in a positive, pragmatic and solution-focused manner</li><li>Coordinate press inquiries, interviews and local event logistics as required </li><li>Develop knowledge of alternative proteins related issues and trends relevant to the role</li><li>Undertake any other reasonable related duties as directed by the Managing Director, Asia.</li></ul> Qualifications Required: <ul><li>Strong experience in PR/communications role with expertise in writing captivating content for a variety of media and audiences, developing of communications plans, building media relations and finding the story  </li><li>Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification/accreditation (Journalism, Media, etc.), ideally in an English-speaking country</li><li>+3 years of relevant work experience</li><li>Track record of running successful online campaigns on both international social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) and Chinese social media (WeChat, RED, BiliBili, etc.)</li><li>Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English, preferably bilingual knowledge</li><li>Ability to understand the elements of what makes a good story and be confident to sell into known and unknown journalists and outlets </li><li>Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively, and to balance competing demands and priorities in a fast-paced environment</li><li>A professional and positive outlook with the ability to adapt and bond with a variety of stakeholders </li><li>Alignment with ProVeg's mission and philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate for ProVeg's vision globally</li><li>Outgoing personality with proven ability in representing an NGO to build productive relationships with media representatives and other stakeholders</li><li>A substantial media network and existing contacts to build upon (business media and lifestyle media), ideally within China. </li><li>A professional media appearance</li><li>High level of flexibility to utilise ad hoc media opportunities and ability to pivot when required </li><li>Trustworthy and accountable personality with a proactive work ethic</li><li>Creative and resourceful with excellent problem-solving skills</li><li>High willingness to learn and inquisitive nature</li><li>A team player</li></ul>Preferred <ul><li>Experience in the food sector</li><li>Understanding of and/or experience within the non-profit sector</li><li>Experience in environmental, food or sustainability sectors</li></ul> Benefits of working with us <ul><li>Flexible, trust-based working arrangements (20-40 hours/week).</li><li>Hybrid home-office and office work arrangements.</li><li>A strong focus on personal development, with a designated training budget.</li><li>Mindfulness Program.</li><li>We are a workplace that encourages everyone to bring their whole selves to work.
