At Symbrosia, we’re building a movement of scientists, farmers, and citizens to use the world’s mightiest seaweed to stop climate change. During cows’ digestive process, methane is produced as a byproduct accounting for 44% of global livestock greenhouse gas emissions, 40% of global methane emissions, and up to 10% of global anthropogenic emissions. W e’re conducting the novel research needed to commercialize a new seaweed species, that when sprinkled into the diet of cattle can reduce their methane emissions by over 90%. For every kg of seaweed produced by Symbrosia, 9 kg of CO 2 emissions are stopped from entering the atmosphere.
