Your Role:

  • You develop novel sorbent materials for the capture of CO2 from ambient air; you optimize sorbents for increased performance and lower costs; you are responsible from the first idea through conceptualization and synthesis within the given economic boundaries
  • You collaborate closely with our team of process engineers to develop optimal utilization strategies of novel and optimized materials within new process concepts to enhance the CO2 output and reduce the energy requirements of the Climeworks product
  • You carry out testing campaigns to validate and further enhance the performance of sorbent materials within novel and established processes
  • You carry out analysis campaigns to assess the stability of materials within specific processes identifying causes of materials degradation. Based on the gained insight you propose improvement strategies
  • You are a reference point for the materials that you develop and optimize and for sorbent related questions in general
  • You work in an interdisciplinary environment with material scientists, chemists, chemical, mechanical and process engineers
REQUIREMENTS
  • You hold a university degree at PhD level in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or a related discipline
  • You bring advanced knowledge in the formulation of sorbent materials preferably for COcapture
