We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer, Battery Management System. This position requires an experienced professional with a strong background in model-based development of control systems. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

  • Work in a dynamic, cross-functional team to advance our cutting-edge battery control strategy
  • Contribute to our world-acclaimed battery product for Formula E motorsports, and mass-market passenger vehicles
  • Develop mission and safety-critical features like charge control, thermal control, fault detection, and diagnostics on BMS
  • Develop requirements and unit tests for features modeled in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Develop feature integration tests at various levels in MATLAB/Simulink and other scripts
  • Maintain FMEA for critical features of highly-reliable, fault-tolerant battery system
  • In conjunction with system integration engineers, develop integration tests to validate battery control algorithms in vehicle

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in model-based design using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Good understanding of Automatic Control Systems and classical control theory tools like compensator design and PID tuning
  • Experience with failure analysis methods such as FMEA and fault tree analysis
  • Proficiency in C/C++
  • 5 years of excellent track record in developing control algorithms for embedded applications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related fields, MS preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with battery management systems and Lithium ion batteries
  • Good understanding of automotive functional safety standards like ISO 26262
  • Working knowledge of AUTOSAR
