Description:

SunPower is seeking an experienced Lead Installation Technician to act as a jobsite foreman in our Southern CA office based near Ontario. This role reports to the field supervisor and operations manager. In this position you will lead a construction crew of 4 to 6 installers on residential solar installations. You must have the ability to deliver excellent customer service and problem solve in the field. Must be a safety oriented person who believes in a safety first work environment.

You will be responsible for managing the installation of all equipment onsite and assuring it is installed to the highest industry and Sunpower standards. You must have the ability to manage the crew on site and finish installations within the project schedule and communicate progress reports. Collecting and delivering jobsite close out data is a requirement on every project Sunpower installs. The Lead Installation Technician will have the skills to collect this data and use a computer to upload it to SunPower applications.

Review plan sets and Bill of Materials
Responsible for service panel upgrades and coordinating with utility personnel onsite
Manages the crew throughout project life cycle
Is SunPower’s representative to the customer from installation start to finish
In charge of site safety and enforcing safety plans and compliance standards
Performs/supervises BOS installation and electrical tie-in
Responsible for job site data collection and commissioning
Schedule and host inspection as needed
General construction experience a plus
Licensed electrician preferred or close to getting certification
Strong knowledge of the NEC
Creates best work practices for their crew
OSHA 10 preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

OSHA 10 Certification
Minimum 1 year of solar installation experience
Strong understanding of NEC codes with emphasis on residential PV installations
Proficient in the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter applications.
High School diploma
Ability to travel between job sites
Must be able to lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more) in addition to climbing ladders and working in high places.
Excellent customer service skills in addition to solid verbal and written communication skills
Electrical Journeyman's License
NABCEP certification


Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Associates degree and 6+ years related experience
OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience.
