Define system architecture and create engineering requirements for power electronics converter for use in residential solar and battery storage applications.
Own full product lifecycle: specification, design, prototype, certification, reliability, validation, and manufacturing.
Collaborate with mechanical, electronics design, and firmware engineering teams to successfully to design, validate and manufacture power converters.
Architect and model of power converters.
Collaborate with internal and external teams.
Build prototype components and assemblies.
Develop and perform tests related to compliance, environmental, and reliability.
Work with contract manufacturers to have parts made to specification, to improve quality, and to improve yield.
Work with Mechanical team to design a thermal management strategy
Build a resource plan and timeline for power electronics development.
We are seeking a seasoned electrical engineer who has:
MS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics
5+ years experience developing bi-directional power converter (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC) design.
Experience with high voltage power semiconductor selection (Si/SiC/GaN MOSFET’s, diodes), gate drive and protection circuit design.
Hands-on approach whether it be building a prototype or performing testing.
Experience leading projects and architecture with diverse team under tight timelines.
Solid understanding of the theory and application of magnetics (inductors, transformers) and capacitors (Electrolytic, film and Ceramic) used for power conversion.
Familiar with schematic capture and power converter circuit modeling/simulation tools.
