The Business Manager is a critical role that facilitates significant elements that support the ongoing efficient and effective leadership of the Lucid Motors’ flagship manufacturing complex. As a critical partner for the site’s lead role, the Business Manager controls the time and data management for the local leadership, ensures agendas are developed and adhered to, and secures the content for meetings in advance, allowing purposeful and engaging discourse by senior leadership. 

The Role

  • Calendar Management: Maintain an up to date calendar for the Director of Manufacturing, directing the position’s scheduling to urgent and important matters impacting the performance of the manufacturing complex
  • Make recommendations for calendar amendments to focus time and energy on matters that need the site’s top leadership input, oversight, and support
  • Meeting Governance
  • Develop and implement a meeting governance, including protocols, that allow for efficient use of time to cover a multitude of topics
  • Establish different protocols and processes for general standing meetings and special topic discussions; ensure general standing meetings follow set agendas and time limits, and keep attendees on track – suggesting special topic reviews, as necessary
  • Meeting Materials
  • Request and secure meeting materials to schedule
  • Distribute materials in advance of meetings so that collaborative time can be used for critical discourse with expedited presentations that allow time for vibrant and thorough dialogue
  • Critical Data Reviews
  • Staying abreast of business performance across the complex, ensure that standard scorecard as well as ad hoc issues are receiving proper attention and executive consideration
  • Manage the leadership’s meeting schedule to make certain that urgent and important matters are receiving appropriate reserved and dedicated discussion and reviews

Qualifications

  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing requests and needs
  • Highly collaborative; comfortable working with people in a matrixed environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to foster and support a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork; able to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across all departments
  • Able to analyze data to guide strategic planning
  • Comfortable to give effective presentations to and facilitate meeting with all levels of the organization

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, commerce, or a related field of study
  • Five or more years of business experience
Preferred:
  • Graduate degree in business, finance, economics, commerce, or a related field of study
  • Five or more years of business experience in a manufacturing environment

Bonus Points

  • Graduate degree in business, finance, economics, commerce, or a related field of study
  • Five or more years of business experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical factors, Shift work and Travel

  • Intermittent periods of long sitting, standing, and walking
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards as described in this Position Specification
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Shift Work: May involve periods of adjusted scheduling to accommodate a 24/7 manufacturing operation
  • Travel: <5% travel, primarily to other in-State sites and/or corporate headquarters in CA
