Job Description

The Role

At Span, we are building products that enable the rapid adoption of distributed renewable energy like home solar, batteries, and electric vehicles. The Span Smart Panel replaces the standard electrical panel to become the center for connected power in the home, providing revolutionary insights and home energy controls through the Span mobile app. Span has been named one of the best home innovations in 2020 by Fast Company and one of the Forbes Top 20 IoT Startups to Watch, in addition to receiving multiple awards from the US Department of Energy and National Renewable Energy Laboratory. 

To fulfill our inbound demand from homeowners, we are adding a Span Home Advisor to our growing sales team. In this role, you will be the face of our product and brand to potential customers, showcasing Span’s breakthrough capabilities and providing an excellent experience throughout the sales process. As part of our quickly expanding team, you will grow and take on additional responsibilities as a sales professional.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Span brand and ensure customers have a fantastic sales experience 
  • Manage inbound customer leads, appropriately qualifying and progressing customers through the pipeline
  • Sell the Span Smart Panel to homeowners, establishing rapport, determining the best solution for the customer, and signing them up for a Span installation
  • Become an expert in guiding customers through electrical upgrades with Span, including collecting photos and important information about the existing home electrical setup
  • Anticipate and overcome objections, and perform within a short sales cycle
  • Coordinate with Span Certified Installation partners to manage sales for customers we install through them
  • Cultivate new quality leads through networking and customer referrals - you are a constant evangelist for Span’s product

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in direct to customer sales
  • Great sales professional: fantastic with customers and committed to finding the right solution for them
  • Must be energetic, outgoing, and entrepreneurial
  • Results-oriented with the ability to effectively prioritize business needs
  • Driven and motivated to play a key role in building a business and scaling a new product
  • Experience working in a collaborative sales process with other salespeople and team members
  • Dedicated to the Span mission of scaling clean energy projects for homes

 

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with solar and/or smart home device sales
  • Track record of success with sales of multi-thousand dollar products
  • Understanding of solar and battery upgrades
  • Understanding of home remodels / home upgrades
