Senior editor

• Working with Azeem Azharf on regular essays to wield the editor's sabre and improve the prose and ensure a transdisciplinary perspective
• Help us identify an overall editorial agenda across our newsletter output
• Make us better and help us deliver more to an incredibly engaged community
• Do what it takes: you should expect to put words down (this isn't just about mark-up!)
• You might have worked at The Economist, Bloomberg, Technology Review or a similar thoughtful publication or magazine. You might have come out of academia, consulting or equity research.... I don't mind provided....
• A broad cannon and fearless intellect
• A good understanding of economics and business, as well as social, cultural and historical perspectives of technology
• An eye for the beautiful.
• Hates cliches like a cat hates the bath.
• Dislikes ponderous, elephant-like turn of phrase, the kind that lumbers at you like a angry, flatulent ogre.
• Has sense of humour.
• A focus on the constructive.
• Ideally, you are familiar with my work and Exponential View
• Available 20-25 hours a week (flexible)
• Candidate prefers flexible work due to other projects, child care, or any other reason
• Ideally based in the UK, but can manage 5 hours time zone either side, if you are prepare to be flexible
• Has spotted all the things that can be improved in this job description.

The organisation

• A small team. Azeem and Marija are full-timers.
• Marija runs the show. Her role, editorially, is what you might consider "managing editor" but she does other things to.
• Azeem sets direction and generates the output. On a day-to-day basis you'll deal with both of us.

Compensation

• Somewhere between pretty good and not too shabby
• It will likely to be competitive with top-tier national or international media
