We are a well-funded start-up located in San Jose, California with a new energy storage technology that will allow electric vehicles to outperform internal combustion cars. We have enabled a step-change in performance with a different chemistry and cell architecture that also benefits safety. Do you want to make a major contribution to this part of the energy economy? As a senior material scientist on the material development team, you will lead efforts to realize high energy, power and stable electrode layer on our next generation solid-state energy storage.
Responsibilities:
Development of state-of-the-art surface modification technologies for all-solid-state battery.Analysis of structure and charge transfer characteristic at hetero interfaces of multiple layered materials.Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to develop processing methods for groundbreaking battery materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.At least 2 years of combined professional and academic experience in material science or related fields.Share a passion for our mission.Have a track record materials development (both synthesis and analysis).Thrive in a dynamic, technically-challenging environment, and quickly adapt to changes.Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to tackle complex challenges.Minimum requirements:Ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization; clearly and logically able to convey ideas and thought processes, both verbally and in writing.
Highly desired:
Domain expertise in one or more areas related to manufacturing or physical sciences.Expertise in analysis of complex chemical systems.Experience in establish the concept of research and experimental design.Experience in leading a project.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
