Job Description

As Senior Investment Manager Triodos Organic Growth Fund (36-40 hours a week) you will be part of a unique impact investing fund with a long-term focus in an evergreen structure. You will participate in both late stage venture and private equity deals and will be supporting frontrunners in the sustainable Food & Agriculture sector. The team consists of 2 Senior investment managers and 2 investment managers working closely together across pipeline and portfolio management.

Your responsibilities

  • Originate investment opportunities in the target markets of the fund
  • Structure and negotiate all aspects of transactions including purchase price and the full set of legal documentation
  • Undertake risk, return and impact assessments, perform due diligence together with team members and external experts
  • Write investment proposals and present to the Investment Committee
  • Help manage the investment portfolio through being non-executive director on the board of investee companies
  • Develop and broaden specific product and market knowledge, as well as being on top of developments in food transition sector
  • Initiate, maintain and deepen contacts with businesses supporting the food transition and other key stakeholders such as investors, accelerators and sector bodies
  • Be a representative of Triodos Bank, our mission & the fund externally, building our profile and networks
  • Support the team members in their development, continuously working to improve team effectiveness and dynamics
  • Coordinate with staff departments providing services to the fund, including financial administration, investor relations, marketing and communication and legal and compliance

The position requires

  • Academic degree, preferably Business Economics or Accounting / Finance
  • Significant working experience in venture capital / private equity or corporate finance (minimum 6 years), preferably including structuring, documenting and executing late venture and/or private equity investments in small and medium sized companies
  • Demonstrated affinity with organic and sustainable consumer businesses and with transition towards sustainable food and agriculture systems
  • Fluency in English both orally and in writing, additional language German or French preferred
  • Willingness to travel in Western Europe on a regular basis (on average twice per month during normal times)
  • Applicants must be nationals of a European member state or have a valid work permit for the European Union

  • Have a relevant international network in the organic and sustainable consumer market
  • Have experience in fulfilling the role of non-executive director on the board of investee companies

The Food & Agriculture team is part of the private debt & equity activities of Triodos IM, across the three transition themes of Food & Agriculture, Energy & Climate and Financial Inclusion. Next to investment activities for TOGF, this team provides financing to smallholder farmers in Emerging Markets.
