We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer for Power Electronics Controls.  This position requires an experienced professional who will be responsible for development and delivery of one or more electronic control units (ECU). Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. 

The Role

  • Outline controller requirements based on system performance requirements 
  • Develop controls strategy, and define the supporting algorithms  
  • Develop dynamic models of the system, and tune controller algorithms accordingly to optimize performance 
  • Translate algorithms into software implementation, and work with the firmware team to integrate that into the firmware framework 
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot controller implementation 
  • Develop and utilize computer simulations (Matlab/Simulink, HiL, SiL) 
  • Do hands on testing the logic on high voltage systems 

Qualifications

  • Strong Embedded C experience. Manticore micro-controller programming skills. Experience in using Debugger. 
  • Automotive background, CAN, SPI, Ethernet, ADC, DAC, PWM. 
  • Power Electronics Knowledge is a plus. AC/DC, DC/DC Power Converter Experience. 
  • Experience with Model Based Design using Matlab and Simulink 
  •  Knowledge of product safety concepts 
  • Proficiency with Jama, Jira/Confluence  
  • Experience in working with charging systems 
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Bachelors degree with at least 5 years experience, or Masters with at least 3 years experience or PhD in electrical, computer or other appropriate engineering discipline.
