As a member of the metrology team, you will help us conceive of, develop and build advanced measurement and imaging systems for collecting high velocity data predictive of battery performance. Come join us in a role that sits at the intersection of materials, manufacturing, machine vision, and data science!
Responsibilities:
Rapidly prototype and assess sophisticated measurement and inspection technologiesWork closely with internal hardware, automation, and software teams to deliver high quality solutions that perform on the factory floor.Write high quality instrument control software.Process and analyze data from prototype measurement systemsCollaborate with the research team to understand key needs and metrology gaps.Work closely with external design shops and instrument manufacturers to identify and build solutions to specific measurement challenges.Identify and configure cutting-edge sensors (e.g. ultra high resolution and specialty cameras), probes (e.g. lasers), and algorithms (e.g. CNNs).
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Fluency in Python and experience analyzing and visualizing image or sensor data.PCB designSelf-motivated with a track record of learning new skills and applying those to achieve results.Thrive in a dynamic, technically-challenging environment, and quickly adapt to changesA good communicator and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team to solve complex challengesAble to multi-task with excellent time management; strive to root cause complex problemsShare a real passion for our mission
Minimum requirements:
MS in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.10 years of academic or industry experience.Professional or academic experience analyzing data with Python.Previous experience working with or developing measurement systems or other sophisticated hardware.
Highly desired:
Previous experience in any of the following:Measurement systems designDeep learning for analysis of image and time series data using standard frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow)Measurement systems analysis, statistical process control, and design of experimentsExperience with specifying and optimizing imaging or measurement systems.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
