The company’s core technology was invented at MIT and is supported by category-leading investors including Coatue, Energy Impact Partners, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures.
We appreciate the beauty in creating something meaningful. We also understand that people thrive in a culture that cares about collaborative relationships and mutual respect. Our executive leadership and investors are aligned and support the allocation of significant time and money towards equity, inclusion, and diversity. Form Energy is also committed to addressing climate justice while advancing technology.
Join Form Energy to amplify your impact and feel immensely proud at the end of the day.

This role will be dynamic, requiring creativity and rapid learning over complex multi-disciplinary problems. The ideal candidate will have experience at the R&D / prototyping phase in industry and be comfortable with hands-on work as well as CAD design and writing code to interface with instruments.  The ideal candidate will have experience not only with design but also with machining, fabrication, 3D printing, and de-bugging system builds. • Own mechanical and system design on this team
  • Design from scratch, collaborating with scientistsIterate to meet evolving specifications
  • Learn with the larger mechanical engineering team at Form
  • Join data reviews and design for decision-quality data
  • Build and troubleshoot prototypes
  • Design SOPs for others to follow
  • Document your work for future learning

What we're looking for:

  • BS required (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar field
  • 7 years of multi-disciplinary system design and building experience in industrial R&D
  • Experience designing, building, troubleshooting systems that include fluid flow, and associated instrumentation
  • Experience with basic electrical hook-up design, build, and troubleshooting
  • Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD package
