Job Description

Why We’re Rad (about us): Rad Power Bikes is a leading consumer-direct e-bike manufacturer specializing in high quality yet affordable electric bikes for weekend warriors, hardcore commuters, and family cyclists.
Madly growing and headquartered in Seattle, WA USA, we are seeking a full-time Product Manager to join our team in Asia. If you enjoy working in a collaborative environment and are looking to be a part of a dynamic team, this might be the role for you! 
The focus of this Asia based Product Manager is to be the technical communication conduit between our Seattle Product Development Team, our Asia based Product Quality Engineering Manager, and our factory partners. Successful candidates will have a combination of project management, manufacturing, and design engineering backgrounds. Duties include managing timelines, BOMs, samples, C&G development, frame development, NPI quality plans, and ongoing product management support for bikes in production.
You will ensure project success by developing new, innovative products, managing product development plans, collaborating with our supply chain team, and by developing assembly strategies that align with Rad’s development goals and our partner's manufacturing capabilities. When a conflicting product, schedule, or manufacturing requirements arise, you will research solutions and guide the team by selecting the best path forward to meet Rad’s development, production, and quality goals. This role will report to our Chief Product Officer.

Why You’re Rad (about you):

  • 5-8+ years of experience strategic component & product sourcing with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Experience sourcing for manufactured consumer goods (especially relating to mechanical and electrical componentry)
  • Able to build consensus cross functionally to qualify suppliers in relation to capabilities & product requirements
  • Proven track-record of demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and proven leadership working with cross-functional teams, including cross-culturally with global teams 
  • Strong project management skills, including developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results
  • Self starter with strong bias for action with a keen business sense with strong judgement, & decision making skills 

Additional Requirements:

  • B.A./B.S. in Supply Chain Management/applicable degree or equivalent professional experience in sourcing consumer products
  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Dropbox and Google applications
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time
  • Ability to be scrappy and work with ambiguity
  • Fluent English speaker

  • Experience with electric bikes or vehicles
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a global supplier base and manage sourcing in multiple countries of origin

  • Collaborated with our Product Team Designers & Engineers to ensure we have a high quality, cost effective supply base that is able to meet our production demand and produce products that meet or exceed our rigorous standards
  • Maintained in depth knowledge of various production processes (metal stamping, extrusions, compression & injection molding, cut & sew, tooling etc.)
  • Supported the development of a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, service and technology
  • Sourced materials throughout Asia & Europe, managed costs; specifically relating to hard and soft direct to consumer products
  • Coordinate with our assembly factories and component suppliers to improve the overall process
