About the Role: 
Imperfect Foods is looking for a Grocery Category Manager. The qualified Category Manager will handle all aspects of assigned categories including leading and developing an inventory buyer. Candidates must have an elevated passion for food and lead with a heart.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns their category assortments by following trends, developing and maintaining product strategies and developing the vision of the assigned category
  • Engineer a finely curated assortment of products that keep shopping satisfying and fun.
  • Effectively and creatively negotiate with suppliers to acquire the best cogs and pricing for our customers.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments such as digital merchandising, marketing and operations.
  • Leading with inclusion and open communication to develop a focused team of Inventory Buyers.
  • Maintain or exceed margin and sales targets.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 years of proven track record in grocery category management or food procurement
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong food supply chain management

Details of the Position:

  • Full-time/non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Category Management and Merchandising
  • This is 100% remote

Physical Requirements

  • Sedentary work; involves sitting most of the time
  • Occasional movement around the office may be necessary
  • Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens

How we are protecting employees from COVID-19
At Imperfect Foods, employee health and safety is our top priority. We have implemented processes and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities. We provide gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all essential employees who must report to work. Before entering our warehouse, employees have their temperatures checked. In addition, we take great care to ensure frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day and all warehouses are fully sanitized weekly.
We have also implemented an Emergency Sick Leave policy providing full-time and part-time employees 2 additional weeks of paid time off and up to 26 weeks paid leave if they have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
