Engineering at Jupiter
The Engineering team includes Data Insists, Data APIs, Application Development, Platform and Services Development, Cloud Operations and Security and is responsible for building innovative products and infrastructure for our ClimateScore™ Platform. Jupiter's Engineering team consists of world class engineers with deep background and expertise in building Peta-Scale systems that empowers Machine Learning, Data Science, Advanced Data Insights & Analytics and Platform for rapid Application development for our flagship products ClimateScore Planning and ClimateScore Global.
This position is in a fast-growing engineering organization created to meet the global demand for local climate and weather information to protect and develop assets, and to manage risk in operations. You will work with data scientists, physical scientists, machine learning specialist and software engineers to implement, interpret, and scale advanced data insights capabilities for our flagship ClimateScore Global product.
-Build the infrastructure and code pipelines for Jupiter’s ClimateScore™ Intelligence and ClimateScore™ Services Platform-Build the Deployment and Development pipelines for our ClimateScore products-Standardize AWS development and Continuous Delivery for developer pipelines and workflows-Lead development of Infrastructure as code-Set and implement best practices for new cluster deployments on EKS-Set guidelines and implement best practices for Terraform based infrastructure deployments-Set guidelines and recommendation for updating infrastructure to keep up with Technology and infrastructure Frameworks
Duties and Responsibilities
-Develop and deploy our current platform on AWS with velocity and portability-Enhance the portability of the current platform that uses Amazon Compute, Amazon Simple Storage Service, Amazon DynamoDB, Kinesis etc. as data stores to AWS and or Azure-Help build the next version of the application and the platform using automated pipeline to integrate model chain and data by using Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS), Amazon Simple ---Notification Service (Amazon SNS), and Amazon Simple Workflow Service (Amazon SWF)-Deploy applications using Helm on EKS-Deploy and provision services in AWS-Create Infrastructure as Code for ClimateScore Platform working closely with Engineering and Science team-Experiment with Amazon services to improve application scalability
-Deep understanding of managing large scale infrastructure-Deep understanding of building and managing large scale software deployments-Excellent understanding of system and cloud based Administration and Monitoring-Hands on experience with AWS-Deep understanding of challenges with orchestrating large-scale applications and or simulations-Some experience with pricing models for different cloud systemsHands on with Docker and/or Kubernetes-Experience with linux and python scripting-Experience with Helm deployments-Experience with TerraFrom templating-Excellent understanding and hands on experience with IAM, provisioning services, EKS, Lambda, Fargate, ECS, API gateways, ALB, WAF and VPC tunnel.-Excellent understanding and hands on experience working with deploying services on EKS cluster using Helm-Excellent understanding of auto scaling and affinity in a K8s cluster-Some experience with Puppet, Chef or AnsibleMust be authorized to work in the U.S.
