Apeel is seeking a passionate and experienced Sr. People Operations Specialist to facilitate employee conversations and build pathways through communication. In this collaborative role, you will work cross-functionally to support business operations and manage responses to employee conflict. This individual will also support Apeel’s crisis management playbook and internal communications. Individuals with experience navigating multicultural teams will be best suited for this role, and fluency in Spanish is a requirement.  

Job Description

Apeel is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior People Operations Specialist to play a key role in revamping our day-to-day People Operations and in creating and implementing long-lasting company policies and practices that will significantly positively impact employee experience. The Senior People Operations Specialist will report to the Manager of People Operations, collaborate closely with the existing People & Culture team members, and work in a highly integrated fashion across all technical and non-technical teams at Apeel. Individuals with experience navigating multicultural teams will be best suited for this role, and fluency in Spanish is a requirement. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Help construct and implement company policies in line with Apeel’s Mission and Core Values
  • Assist in communications in crisis response scenarios
  • Receive, evaluate and respond to employee concerns
  • May lead internal investigations and provides coaching and counsel to managers and employees
  • Assist with onboarding, employee relations, and offboarding of Apeel team members in Latin America and Spain.
  • Help maintain and update Employee Handbook and required postings
  • Attend Human Resources classes, seminars and conferences to help keep company compliant with changing labor laws.
  • Serve as a Culture Ambassador for Apeel, advocating for employees, and implementing best practices.
  • Spearhead special People & Culture projects as needed.
  • Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors and serve as a point of contact for Apeel’s HR function

What You Bring:

  • 4-7 years of experience in Human Resources; employee relations experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish required
  • Deep understanding of state and federal employment laws
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Extremely detailed-oriented and process-oriented
  • People-centric mindset with the desire to build meaningful relationships in the workplace
  • Skilled at owning projects from start to finish
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly curious and consistently re-evaluating conventional practices with the drive to introduce new perspectives to improve and tailor current HR policies and processes
  • Truly embodies the phrase, “no job too big or too small”
  • Bachelors’ degree in Employee Relations, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with and optimizing HR platforms; ideally experience with Workday and implementing HRIS
