What You Will Be Doing
We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to help with the manufacture of our leading-edge electric vehicle charging products. This position will work closely with ChargePoint’s Manufacturing Operations and Quality organizations as well with our Contract Manufacturers partners to deliver products that meet ChargePoint’s quality, cost, and delivery objectives. A successful candidate must be a team player with a strong track record to influence success in the manufacturing of complex electro-mechanical systems and printed circuit board assemblies.

 

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Work with internal cross-functional teams to ensure production related metrics are exceeded.
  • Facilitate new product introduction (NPI) initiatives and supply chain activities.
  • Perform electro-mechanical part and assembly level DFM analysis.
  • Work both internally and externally to develop and assess manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Exemplify a hands-on management style.
  • Ensure all required documentation, process, and equipment is in place for sustaining production as well as product launches.
  • Bridge the gap between our manufacturing partners and ChargePoint by supporting sustaining production as well as development builds.
  • Lead problem resolution and failure analysis with manufacturing partners and component suppliers by utilizing Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Drive to a healthy continuous improvement process with our manufacturing operations to achieve our quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Insure proper implementation of engineering changes at the factory.
  • Summarize issues and data to create reports and presentations for all levels of the organization.
  • Support optimization of manufacturing lines for maximum flexibility, capacity, throughput and efficiency.
  • Assist in the root cause analysis of field and factory failures caused by material and assembly defects.
  • Work with supplier quality engineers to identify and resolve issues with raw materials and purchased subassemblies.

 

Qualifications and Desired Skills:

  • BS in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years direct hands-on experience and know-how with fast paced, product design and product commercialization companies.
  • In-depth knowledge and direct experience in manufacturing operations, product lifecycle management and manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in DFx methodologies.
  • Able to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Experience with Confluence, Jira, Arena and Microsoft tools is a plus.
  • Experience with continuous process improvement and lean manufacturing principals, Six Sigma Black Belt would be a plus.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills required.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Up to 20% international and domestic travel may be required.
