Your role and your team

You are part of the legal team and will report directly to the General Counsel & Head of Legal. You will work closely with our procurement and supply manangement teams.

We work in an international environment at the intersection of law and technology. We are the first point of contact for all departments in various areas of law and provide legal support in building up the company to become a global player in the eVTOL-market. There is no routine at Lilium.

As Senior Legal Counsel at Lilium, you work on setting up most exciting and robust legal frameworks as disruptive technological innovations require creative and proactive legal guidance. You are part of a smart group of in-house lawyers and will embody the interface with procurement and production; the projects and contracts you take on challenge you to think big and differently. As an interface between the legal department, procurement and supply management you proactively assess legal risks and advise on setting the framework for development, cooperation and supplier agreements that will change the world of mobility. 

Your Day to Day:

• As Senior Legal Counsel, you will draft, negotiate and implement standard contracts, templates, terms and conditions, agreements and memorandums for all procurement and development activities, from suppliers sourcing, development to the delivery of items and services.  
• You will advise during the closure of competitive bids regarding the legal and contractual attractiveness the suppliers offer.
• You will ensure that Lilium intellectual property is secured when collaborating with suppliers and service providers.
• You will participate in commercial negotiations with key suppliers when legal and contractual issues are at stake.
• You will provide regular trainings to the procurement team in order to ensure that commodity buyers are trained and aware of the most common issues and pitfalls in commercial agreements with suppliers.
• You will advise on the creation of partnerships to ensure that Lilium’s interest are secured.
• You will ensure the Business Management System (BMS) enforces compliance to internal company rules, as well as to local and international regulations and international standards (ITAR, REACH).

Your Profile:

• Second German State law Exam (2. Staatsexamen) and admission to the bar.
• Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) in drafting, negotiating and closing large-scale commercial contracts, supplier agreements (preferably aerospace), cooperation agreements, and development agreements in the English language (ideally in a top international law firm).
• Strong multi-cultural skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new environments and professional challenges of a start up company
• Good organisational skills and fair team player
• Proficiency in English and German.
