What You Will Be Doing

The Product Manager for Payments is responsible for developing and prioritizing requirements for payment services for drivers, fleets, and station owners.  ChargePoint has a flexible platform that enables customers from many different verticals to invoice for electric vehicle charging through a variety of payment sources.  You will navigate the complex financial relationships between station owners, property owners, leasing companies, fleet managers, drivers, employees, third party networks, utilities, government entities, and all of the stakeholders of the industry to build solutions that help the business scale as the world electrifies every aspect of transportation.  Internally, your customers will be the other members of the Product Management team and Business Applications team who require new payment processing capabilities to enable new business opportunities and streamline existing processes.

In this role, you will

  • Work closely with the Product Management and Business Applications teams to define requirements for the ChargePoint platform with respect to our payment services
  • Prioritize requirements based on well-researched understanding of market needs and trends
  • Work closely with Engineering and Business Applications to achieve alignment on feature implementation
  • Manage technical relationships with payment providers, such as credit card processors, fuel card providers, banking services, acquirers, card brand companies, online payment providers, and other third parties
  • Ensure that all payment solutions are secure, respect the privacy of all customer data, and are supportable for ChargePoint’s business including finance, customer support, operations, legal, sales and engineering
  • Be the ChargePoint subject matter expert for all payment services internally and externally

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or similar
  • 3-5 years of experience in the payment services or processor industry
  • Direct experience in product management
  • A track record of successfully delivering complex projects in cross-functional environments
  • Demonstrated commercial and technical acumen
  • Understanding and writing complex technical requirements for software engineering teams
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Language: English
