Role DescriptionThis is an opportunity to have a direct and daily impact in an exciting energy technology startup. We are seeking an experienced and scrappy engineer to lead our Operations Infrastructure team in support of our growing lab space, and equipment needs.  The ideal candidate will bring expertise in engineering development, hands-on experience in laboratory operations, a “can-do” attitude, and strong independent problem solving skills. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and excellent organizational and communication skills. Prior experience in electrochemical systems testing, such as batteries or fuel cells, is preferred. The role will require collaboration with engineers, scientists, and technicians to ensure that incubator and test infrastructure builds have standardized procedures. Further, this role will oversee equipment build, maintenance, and calibration as well as closure of other infrastructure tasking.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the Operations Infrastructure Team to support all aspects of infrastructure support, including incubator assembly, test equipment receiving and inspection, and equipment commissioning/troubleshooting.
  • Own the design, build, and implementation of test and technical infrastructure to support battery and component level testing. Roll up your sleeves to contribute hands-on to development projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to ensure safety, quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Create and manage execution schedules for incubator builds and infrastructure projects. This requires strong organizational and communication skills across the technical organization. Develop, review, and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain high standards around data collection and data hygiene.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to specify, source, install, and commission new capital equipment.
  • Aid in the development of best practices and infrastructure to improve safety, in conjunction with Form Energy’s safety officers, for the laboratory.

What you'll need:

  • BS degree in an Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years experience in fast-paced high-tech environment with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with test equipment design and assemblyUnderstanding of general facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and structural.
  • Experience having direct reports or managing technicians.
