Job Description

Root AI is a tech company solving the biggest challenges facing agriculture. We are on a mission to rebuild farming from the ground up, starting with advanced robotic systems that can see, care for, and harvest crops. This role offers an opportunity to work in tandem with the CEO to shape the sales process, team culture, and ultimately, our business strategy. We are looking for a quick learner who is proactive, independent, and adaptable. As the Sales & Engagement Manager, you will:

  • Design business cases, strategies, and collateral to cultivate new opportunities and drive customer adoption
  • Craft and implement a data-driven sales process that ensures a seamless customer experience
  • Communicate with customers to understand operational needs, identify new opportunities, solve issues, and continuously strengthen relationships
  • Build the communications infrastructure between sales and operations to scale Root’s robotic fleets
  • Manage all post-sales activity for customers through knowledge of operations and product
  • Work with the CEO to identify and evaluate new product features and operational workflows that drive customer value

We’re looking for candidates with:

  • 5+ years experience in a sales or business development role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to present to all levels of management
  • Highly resourceful and analytical mindset, with a great attention to detail
  • Proven track record in building deep partnerships across a diverse stakeholders
  • Capability to operate autonomously, prioritizing and delivering results in a business with rapidly evolving objectives
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to support customer engagements and trade shows (post-COVID 19 abatement)

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience working at a high-growth technology start-up
  • Experience selling complex enterprise solutions in a B2B context, preferably for automated systems
  • Prior technical training and/or professional experience so you can deep dive into the product capabilities and identify new opportunities for Root’s technology (e.g. software development, mechatronics, electrical engineering, etc.)
