Pilot Plant Technician

Here at Modern Meadow, we are harnessing the power of design, biology, and engineering to produce biofabricated materials. Applying the latest tools of biotechnology, we are creating a new type of materials company. As we continue to grow, we are seeking to hire a Pilot Plant Technician for our Materials Science Process technology group.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for properly setting up the pilot line before, after and during the run
• Safe operation of the pilot line and other equipment in pilot facility; follow safety guidelines and procedures
• Follow all procedures set forth in the SOPs
• Effective communication with scientists, engineers and fellow technicians to ensure all requirements of the run are captured in a document before the start of the run
• Change over of different consumables on the line that are related to production
• Finishing all the paperwork related to the run on the same day and get it signed by supervisor
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; cleaning and sanitizing equipment
• Troubleshoot rapidly and effectively to ensure minimal line downtime
• Proper safe handling of disposable waste from the facility
• Perform routine maintenance on the line to ensure the smooth operations during production

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Polymer science or Chemical Engineering
• Prior industrial experience in manufacturing setting or continuous production lines is a plus
• Comfortable learning new technologies and implementing changes to the existing processes based on the customer requirements
• Possess the skills to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical malfunction of equipment
• High level of organization skills, good written and oral communication skills; must be able to respond to verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work towards meeting tight deadlines
• Ability to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed
• Basic computer skills are a must
• Self-motivated, passionate about your work, and enthusiastic about contributing to building a positive team spirit
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, as well as stand, reach and climb steps etc.
