Who we are:
Creating a planet fueled by reliable, clean energy isn’t what keeps us up at night; it’s what gets us out of bed. At Opus One Solutions, our software platform GridOS® helps us pursue solutions that will change how countries access, optimize and distribute electrical energy. From microgrids that keep things running in the event of an outage to how electric utilities can optimize their operations and allow homeowner feed energy into a power grid fueling the electrical sharing economy.
At Opus One Solutions, we believe some of the best talent in the tech industry share our passion for delivering technology that matters and that will make a difference, in our lifetime and beyond. We want to work with people who love the complexities of software; who believe in its power to transform the world to a better place.
Good people know that great ideas are everywhere and what matters most is practical execution. Turning vision into reality is the hard part. But, when it’s creating technical solutions that support access to renewable energy, it’s an engineering feat worth contributing to.
The opportunity
You will be working to build out the Opus One Solutions data science team focusing primarily on generating high-velocity machine learning models from scratch balancing innovation with practicality targeted at electrical distribution utility customers.
Who you are?
You are a data scientist working on time series forecasting within the electrical utility space or an adjacent industry where forecasting is prevalent. You feel your skillset can be applied to our problem domain and you are as comfortable chasing a hypothesis as you are handing over your model to production.
We expect you to be able to communicate your results with all stakeholders including technical and non-technical audiences.
It’s still early days for the data science team, though we are world experts in electrical power flow optimization. As such, you will have an opportunity to make a substantial contribution to defining the data science task at Opus One and our proposed approach to real-world business problems, in this case a good one: de-carbonizing the planet.
Requirements
Here’s what you bring:
