Battery Abuse Test Engineer

We are seeking an expert and diligent senior Battery Test Engineer to join our team!
The Role:This role is to help QuantumScape achieve success by supporting the development of a commercial cell product. You will be establishing a new lab to conduct abuse and reliability tests on our product. This includes designing the lab, specifying equipment, working with vendors and our procurement team to source the equipment, install and validate the equipment. The successful candidate will specify operating procedures and provide training for technicians in the operation of the equipment and also work with our IS team to establish data collection and analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & ExperienceA minimum of a bachelors degree in electrical, chemical or mechanical engineering. In order to be successful in this senior role, you are likely to have at least five years experience of test development in an R&D or product development environment.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesThe successful candidate will have acquired the following knowledge, skills and abilities that will be used in this position:excellent familiarity with automated test development including specification, procurement and validation;experience in the development and execution of reliability testing;good organizational skills and careful attention to details; good analytical skills for making independent decisions based on data;motivation for success.
Any of the following are a plus.In addition to the above, the following will help achieve success:familiarity with battery abuse testing (thermal, mechanical shock, electrical stress);knowledge of secondary (rechargeable) battery components and electrical characteristics.
