Job Description

Why We’re Rad (about us): Rad Power Bikes is on a mission to get people onto bikes, electric bikes that are built for everything and priced for everyone - the weekend warriors, hardcore commuters, and family cyclists.
Madly growing and headquartered in Seattle, WA, we are seeking a full-time Director of Brand to join our team reporting to our Chief Revenue Officer. If you enjoy working in a collaborative and fast paced environment and are looking to support a dynamic team, read on.
Our Director of Brand will be responsible for developing and executing the brand strategy globally. You will lead global brand-related initiatives including: Go-To-Market for brand and product campaigns, product marketing, brand narratives, and public relations. You will drive the annual brand planning starting with our existing narrative, customer segments and personas, then building quarterly brand campaigns to help Rad grow our customer base, brand awareness and revenues across the US, CA and EU.   This position works closely with product, retail, ecommerce and other business leaders to define our go-to-market strategy. 

Why You’re Rad (about you):

  • 12+ years experience in a senior leadership role in leading brand marketing and Public Relations for a high growth retail brand & 5+ years managing a team of experienced managers
  • A passionate storyteller that can capture the passion and energy of Rad Power Bikes and guide the creation of content and creative that connect on an emotional level with new and existing Rad customers
  • Can drive brand goals across the entire organization, collaborating with our Product Design, Packaging, Web and Retail store designers to create unrivaled customer experiences 
  • Deep-rooted knowledge of PR best practices with strong connections to leading editors and journalists & understands the importance of communities and knows how to grow and leverage to propel brands
  • Finds that careful balance between strengthening a brand while supporting various revenue goals across business teams
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can ruthlessly prioritize projects and change

Additional Requirements:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with eComm and/or Direct to Consumer Retail brands 
  • Impeccable oral & written communication skills

  • Act as the brand storyteller, setting the brand narrative and coordinate implementation across Brand channels (social, blog, brand email) and the full org
  • Lead the editorial, content,  and creative functions to support both Brand, Performance, and eComm efforts and goals
  • Lead our Global PR and external communications to drive earned mentions and brand awareness
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure accurate brand representation and strategy
  • Think outside the box to find new and creative ways to widen the gap between the Rad brand and the competition
  • Developed and implemented customer surveys, sharing results with Product, Ecommerce and Performance marketing teams.
