Manager, Supplier Development and Quality

What You Will Be Doing

Working closely with Engineering, Product, and Operational teams, the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be responsible for supporting the evaluation, selection and qualification of our Supply Partners in the area of Fabricated and Catalogue Mechanical Components, Cables, and Complex Electro-Mechanical Assemblies used in Charge Point Products.

The SQE will often take a lead role in working our Supply Partners to resolve complex product and processing problems early in the product development phase, as well as staging such products and processes for production readiness.

The SQE will also support products in production, working cross-functionally in cost attainment, cost reduction, and quality improvement activities thru end-of-life.

The SQE will be required to work with Contract Manufacturers (CM) on issues that impact continuity and quality of supply, and assist in deployment of applicable Quality Management Systems, Programs, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

The SQE will be required to prepare periodic reports, be an active participant in team meetings, lead and coordinate cross-functionally in quality issue management, and occasionally present to management.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Responsible for all aspects of Supplier Quality in the area of Fabricated and Catalog Mechanical Components, Cables, and Complex Electro-Mechanical Assemblies
  • A strong understanding of Supplier QMS and the ability to Audit, perform Gap Analysis, and Drive necessary QMS related Changes at the Supplier.
  • Plan and execute Supplier Assessments, Qualifications, and PPAP.
  • Manage & Report Status, Quality and Execution Risks associated with Qualification.
  • Support/drive DFM, FMEA/PFMEA on Custom Components
  • Develop General Inspection plans and review of FAI/OGI reports.
  • Supporting Change (ECO) and Concession Management (Deviations/Waivers), SCARs
  • Execute Charge Point 8D/CAPA methodology with Supply Partners.
  • The ability to work Cross-Functionally and with our Supply Partners to improve the Quality of Supply.
  • Drive and Track component Failure Analysis activity as required.
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication skills

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Component Engineering
  • Proficient in Statistical Quality Control, and familiarity with Lean/6-Sigma concepts
  • Strong understanding of forming, extruding, molding, casting, coating, plating, painting, and anodizing. Experience with Cables and Cable Assemblies a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of cosmetic quality concepts and methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing measurement and inspection processes, tools, fixtures, and gages.
  • Solid understanding of and experience applying problem solving tools including root cause analysis, statistical tools and processes, and DOEs.
  • Ability to clearly summarize quality data and trends and to create reports and presentations for all levels of internal audiences.
  • Ability to write procedures, specifications, change orders, and concessions
  • BSME or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally: up to 25% of the time.
