Your role and your team: 

You will report directly to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering Equipment Acquisition and work closely with our Manufacturing Engineering Team. 


We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead the Equipment development activities in the Manufacturing Engineering Department who applies Lilium’s revolutionary product & business model into the development of a very modern, automated, and people-focused aircraft assembly factory.

You will be responsible for the definition, selection and construction of manufacturing equipment's for the Energy System or Propulsion System. You will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team who is responsible for the absolute doable and capable realization of the product design into manufacturing & production testing solutions. This role is fundamental in building a new way of high-volume production within a few years. You will provide the best process & technology solutions and factory support to meet the design requirements and the business targets in accordance to the quality standards of EASA 21G and EN9100.

 

Your Day to Day:

  • Act as interface between equipment suppliers and engineering/production
  • Lead and coordinate Simultanoues Engineering projects
  • Write Equipment Specifications and ensure the Deployment of Equipment according to machinery directive 2006/42/EG.
  • Identify and implement processes to support new Product introduction into the supply chain and domestic factories.
  • Shop floor support & continuous improvement across the entire production network during the ramp up phase
  • Lead technical projects including Root cause problem solving and mapping and analysis of existing processes to secure the quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Support production and supply chain teams regarding all technical matters
  • Engage in a global network for technology acquisition, new product designs and modern production system solution for specific components.
  • As part of interdisciplinary project teams, you autonomously collaborate with software/hardware designers and the product management to gain an understanding of the product
  • Analyze the requirements and determine the information depth and the types of publications needed by our suppliers.
  • you coordinate and supervise outsourced projects.
  • you recommend and implement improvements for greater efficiency.   

 

Your Profile: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering for high volume assembly lines of automotive and/or small aircraft assembly
  • Prefered: Experience in writing Specification for high volume assembly Equipment
  • Knowledge in PFMA (Process Failure Mode And Effects Analysis)
  • Experience in ramp up high-volume assembly lines into serial production is a must
  • Mechanical / Electrical / Chemical engineering degree in automotive, production and/or aerospace
  • Experience in assembly production, development, and manufacturing, including material, equipment/machinery, tooling selection and process specification.
  • Lean skills - driving continuous improvements, HS&E and process capability.
  • Perform data analysis, create documentation, and present test results.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities with a drive to challenge the status quo; eager to learn; puts the team first; robust and passionate to follow given objectives; uses failure as learning experience; excellent communicator with a high sense of urgency. 
  • Adept at working cross-functionally, especially with Design Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Program Management, and other cross-business functions.
  • Hands-on mentality and heavy collaboration with production team to secure continuous production flow
  • Experience in DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
  • English fluently and German skills is a plus
