SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join its Boston office. This position will report to the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting and will be responsible for maintaining records for Nexamp’s multimillion dollar inventory. This individual will have the opportunity for future growth and development amongst a group of hard working and fun professionals. We are seeking a driven, dedicated, and enthusiastic professional to join our dynamic team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the execution and performance of accounting and finance activities, including, but not limited to:

 

  • Communicating on a regular basis with the warehouse coordinator, the project managers, and the procurement team to get the most up to date data on inventory
  • Developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances for executive management
  • Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
  • Verifying accurate standard costs
  • Monitoring and recording inventory transactions
  • Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger
  • Preparing weekly and/or monthly journal entries for cost of goods sold and accruals as needed
  • Performing biannual standard cost rolls in ERP system
  • Planning, organizing, and directing bi-annual/quarterly company-wide physical inventory counts and cycle count observations
  • Preparing ad hoc reports for management
  • Assisting with year-end audit requests.
  • Completing additional special projects as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, results-oriented and operate well in a collaborative, team environment. The ideal candidate should be prepared for increased responsibilities as they relate to the role and in a rapidly growing company.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or associate’s degree with additional work experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years related accounting experience, public accounting, or cost accounting preferred.
  • CPA or desire to pursue a CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite strongly preferred. Experience with Procore is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the accounting team, executive management and all departments across the organization.
  • Willing and able to adapt to a high energy, fast paced environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and efficient.
  • Robust analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and overall computer skills (including the ability to use Excel formulas such as VLOOKUP’s and sumifs).
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow.
