Job Description

Zoox's Advanced Hardware Engineering team is looking for an EMC Test Engineer to work closely with our test and design engineers on the development of in-house electronics for our autonomous vehicle. Responsibilities of this role will range from defining test plans, running various component level automotive tests, in-house test capability development, design analysis and debug. You will use internal and external standards to define and track appropriate test thresholds as well as drive test coverage. You will also be involved in root causing board failures, sometimes leading you deep into the vehicle architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Define test plans, run component level automotive tests
  • Utilize internal/external standards to define and track test thresholds; drive test coverage
  • Root cause board failures
  • Partner closely with test/design engineers to develop in-house electronics for our vehicle

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in EMC testing of consumer electronics, medical devices, automotive or aerospace industry
  • Hands-on experience performing various EMC tests per international standards (not limited to CISPR, ISO, IEC/EN, SAE, FCC)
  • Have taken a product through a full EMC certification process
  • Experience reviewing EMC test reports and identifying test gaps
  • Experience performing risk assessment of designs with respect to compliance with EMC requirements
  • Experience building in-house testing capabilities and automating testing
  • Knowledgeable of EMC debug techniques and ability perform root cause analysis of failures

Bonus Qualifications

  • Specific EMC test experience on automotive subsystems
  • Experience running CISPR25, ISO 7637 series, and ISO 11452 series EMC testing on sub-system level
  • Experience with EMC simulation
  • Experience with Altium or equivalent PCB CAD package
  • Experience managing EMC testing conducted by suppliers
