Job Description

Here at Modern Meadow, we are harnessing the power of design, biology, and engineering to produce biofabricated materials. Applying the latest tools of biotechnology, we are creating a new type of materials company. As we continue to grow, we are seeking to hire a Community Manager to maintain the day-to-day digital communications of our brands.

As a Community Manager at Modern Meadow, you will be responsible for maintaining the voice and spirit of our brands in your care. Equal parts social strategist and content owner, you will be creating and posting on-brand content in real-time. You’ll work alongside our commercial team and external partners to ensure growth of our channels, overall processes are smooth, and that creative teams are effectively bringing ‘of the moment’ opportunities to life across platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and action on real time trends and opportunities in the materials science and biotech space
  • Manage our social community through timely response to customer and fan messages in the brand’s specific voice from Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Drive engagement on our brand channels including but not limited to Modern Meadow, ZOA and our CEO
  • Collaborate on briefs and requests for social posts. Develop a social calendar to optimize our business objectives and opportunities
  • Collaborate with the broader commercial and external teams (ie. creative, comms/PR) on content calendar ideation and development
  • Manage our social calendars from start to finish, including the scheduling and publishing of final content
  • Partner with strategy team to own any reporting workstreams to track community management efforts against overarching brand goals and KPIs
  • Offer on the ground support for our experiential events and real time campaigns, with availability to work on the weekends
  • Work with teammates in both New York and New Jersey as part of our cross-office team
  • Ability to collaborate with team to synthesize market trends (competitive landscape plus key customer data) into actionable approach to community engagement

Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of social media platforms, including their respective strengths, nuances, success metrics, and relevant demographics
  • Digitally savvy and sophisticated social skills: you can communicate concisely yet warmly over various media platforms
  • Ability to apply past learnings to new content in order to create best practices for our brands
  • Business acumen, with ability to interface with external partners to coordinate social strategy and execution of amplification of one another's posts to achieve co-branding goals
  • Experience with co-branding initiatives / projects that require synchronizing social media posting through multiple channel
  • Strategic-minded that can see the full picture of how social content impacts overall goals and help provide recommendations to meet and exceed them
  • A self-starter, passionate about social, full of ambition and initiative in bringing new social tactics to the table
  • Comfortable working alongside and communicating directly across teams and agencies
  • Acute attention to detail, excellent writing skills
  • Independent yet communicative and team-oriented; equal parts confidence, humility, and desire to learn
  • Ability to check social media platforms over the weekends and respond to emergency situations when/if needed
  • Proven success working in fast-paced, super-collaborative team environments
  • Interested in science and ability to digest complex information, in partnership with team, into relevant points for communication on MM platforms

Other Skills (nice to have but not required):

  • Experience working with native platform analytics on social channels
  • Previous experience or interest in the technology space
  • Previous experience with paid media across social platforms to understand best practices; management and trafficking not part of the role
