OVERVIEW
The Reach Truck Operator (RTO) will be responsible for storing and moving all material in the facility. The RTO must be able to operate powered industrial machinery with ease, using scanners to keep track of items they move. The RTO is the pivotal piece in the inventory tracking process, storing material accurately which will then allow items to be retrieved according to what the system displays. The RTO must strive for organization, keeping all like material together and retrieving all material for production according to FEFO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Place all material in assigned racks neatly, while verifying quantity and pallet integrity
• Retrieve material out of the racks and place it on the floor for the production process 
• Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of items being stored, spot-checks
• Track product being moved by consolidating and relocating inventory according to product description and production usage
• Identify and keep track of material due to expire and ensure that it is consumed first
• Pick material needed for production in advance
• Operate all machinery in a safe and efficient manner
• Inventory cycle counting
• Remove debris from freezer floor
• Must display constant awareness of potential hazards

• Collaborate with internal departments to locate any missing packages, correct any necessary deliveries, and replace any damaged product
• Restack pallets when necessary 
• Checking for damaged goods
• Responsible for daily housekeeping 
• Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance checks

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2-3 years warehousing experience
• 1-2 of cold storage reach truck experience 
• Forklift and electric pallet jack certification
• Data entry, math, and computer skills
• Effective leadership and team management skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must be able to withstand freezing temperatures for extended periods of time (0 degrees for a minimum of 2hrs)
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Can stand for extended periods of time
• Able to work a flexible schedule
