As a Senior People Operations Generalist on the People team you will use your unique blend of analytical skills, emotional intelligence, systems thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit to build creative, scalable solutions that support our people. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  • Responsible for surfacing and efficiently resolving employee relations issues including visas and immigration, offboarding, organizational changes, policy implementation, and compliance.
  • Responsible for leading day-to-day benefits operations, new employee orientation, and strategic benefits-related projects including open enrollment.
  • Responsible for Sila’s Employee Handbook, new policy development, and supporting our COVID Task Force and related policies. This includes vetting, implementation based on regulations and industry trends, and partnering with outside counsel, when needed. Apply our policies and practices with both consistency and pragmatism; you understand how unique each situation can be.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day work on HRIS optimization and utilization.
  • Partner with internal compensation experts to ensure total rewards attract and retain key talent necessary to achieve Sila’s business goals.
  • Provide HR Business Partner leadership and facilitation for executives and managers. Partner with other People Team members on training and coaching to create high-performing teams.
  • Develop a deep expertise in Sila’s business. Invest in building relationships with your colleagues across functions that are based on trust and reliability.
  • Expect approximately 75% of the role to be People Operations (e.g., Benefits, Handbook, HRIS leadership) and 25% Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to start.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in People Operations; experience in high-growth organizations and 2+ years of experience supporting executives preferred. PHR certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experienced in Human Resources. Has optimized and implemented benefits programs, HR policies, and HRIS tools (ADP Workforce Now and Kronos preferred). Expertise in California labor laws for exempt and non-exempt employee groups, knowledge of HR federal & provincial laws and regulations required.
  • Systems Thinker. Proven record of deploying ideas and HR systems that helped other business leaders achieve their goals. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to translate goals into human resource capabilities.  
  • Excellent communicator. Proven ability to facilitate high fidelity communication up, down, and sideways. Able to manage challenging issues to closure. Able to take a reliable pulse of the organization based on supporting employees through hardship and partnering with managers to enact changes.
  • Naturally curious. Always seeking to learn more and to improve processes and programs. Motivated to get day-to-day work done. Thinks deeply about how to create clarity from ambiguity and contribute to complex strategy discussions.
  • High EQ, cultural awareness, and compassion. Proven track record of implementing successful diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Passion for the intersection of DEI and technology innovation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location.
  • Reside at Headquarters in Alameda, CA.
