Job Description

The Role 

We are seeking an experienced certified electrician to train installers about the installation and service of the Span Panel.  The role will be a combination of training, product development, sales support, quality inspection, and service in order to support Span Panel deployments to new and existing homes. In this role, travel will be essential to ensure successful installations to our Northern California regions. Travel to Arizona is also foreseeable. You will cross-functionally collaborate with our headquarters in San Francisco to work with product development team and support installations remotely, and onsite as needed.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of training content

  • Perform classroom and on-the-job installation and service training 

  • Provide input to ensure design and installation complies with National Electrical Code

  • Commission systems and diagnose installation-related problems

  • Routinely funnel feedback from field installations to product development team to improve the Span Panel

  • Assure the quality of installations and offer constructive feedback to installers

  • Diagnose field issues with installers both on-site and remotely

  • Stay up-to-date on changes with NEC code cycles

  • Provide excellent customer service

 

About You 

Required Qualifications

We are seeking a Field Specialist who has:

  • Current certified electrician status (EJ, ES)

  • National Electric Code expertise

  • Knowledge of energy storage system and photovoltaics, and backup power systems

  • Effective communication and training skills

  • Proven customer service excellence

  • Driven towards a quality product

  • Hands-on experience 

  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75% of time

Bonus Qualifications

We would love to hire someone who has: 

  • Experience being sole company representative in Southern California 

  • Knowledge and is in good standing with several local AHJ’s and their requirements

  • Understanding and execution of the local permitting process

  • Electronics background

  • Passion for renewable energy

  • Potential Responsible Managing Employee (RME)

  • C-13 Electrical Contractor License
