Marketing and Sales Intern

Hours: 10 – 20 hours/week

Spring Semester and/or Summer

Summary of Position

Extensible Energy is hiring a marketing intern to help us improve our online presence and widen our reach into the solar and buildings industry. The position will focus on content creation, web presence, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing projects. 

As a startup, you will have a significant impact on the progress of the company. You will have lots of interaction with everyone in the organization, including our marketing expert and the CEO. There is plenty of room for initiating things and exercising your creativity here!

Major Responsibilities

• Develop content for the Extensible Energy website and social media channels (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, twitter) including researching and implementing new strategies and audiences
• Analyze marketing metrics (e.g. web traffic, click through rates, social media engagement)
• Revamp format and create monthly newsletter
• Coordinate with marketing manager to design collateral materials
• Design and implement digital media strategy with other members of Extensible Energy team
• Attend virtual events and represent Extensible Energy
• Utilize CRM tool for drip email campaigns
• Support proactive and reactive communication efforts
• Add existing and potential solar partners to our twitter lists, so we can engage with them and potentially target with ads.

Skills and Qualification

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Creativity
• Wonderful organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with best practices in social media, especially Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
• Working knowledge of website management (e.g. Wix)
• Basic video and photo editing skills
• Ability to work independently (and remotely during COVID) and as part of a team
• Enthusiasm for sustainability and the energy industry
• Current student

As a startup, you will have a significant impact on the progress of the company. You should be a self-starter who takes initiative and has experience in an entrepreneurial environment. You should be comfortable working collaboratively in a small team, with input from product management, research, and business drivers.

We are looking for someone in the San Francisco Bay area. We have an office in downtown Oakland but are working remotely during COVID.  We will return to in-person work, with flexibility for remote work, when allowed and safe.
