About the Role

We are seeking a Research Associate to join our Consumer Insights team. In this role, you will manage and provide support on all aspects of primary and secondary research including both qualitative and quantitative methods, with a strong emphasis on quantitative research (surveys). You will bring your intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial mentality, and storytelling ability to help answer important strategic questions around marketing, product, operations, and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Support research studies/surveys, including but not limited to brand health, product testing, messaging/positioning evaluation, market-level research, and segmentations
  • Manage all steps of a project like strategy drafting, survey design, questionnaire writing, data analysis, report writing and delivery, presentation, and post mortem
  • Successfully help design and field highly complex research studies and initiatives with minimal oversight
  • Partner with the data and performance marketing teams to ensure analytics are embedded in survey design and analysis as appropriate
  • Translate complex research data into measurable insights and recommendations through visual and creative reports
  • Comfortable collaborating and seeking alignment with others who may have different perspectives and information processing styles
  • Ability to manage many projects simultaneously and effective working independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work flexibly and efficiently, exercising a balance between research rigor and speed
  • Anticipate Spin’s needs through intimate familiarity with the business and customer and understand the unique challenges/opportunities, and proactively engage on a continual basis to help foster a sense of partnership within teams across Spin and with research vendors
  • Serve as a trusted specialist in micro-mobility, culture, and media trends

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience working in consumer insights, consumer research
  • 4 year BA/BS with a strong academic record, and with a degree in a business or social science field or one with an emphasis on statistics or quantitative research methodologies
  • Strong interest in technology, innovation, and transportation/mobility
  • Excellent G Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, and visual communication skills
  • Familiar with the following data analysis techniques such as: statistical significance testing, correlations analysis, multivariate analysis techniques (such as cluster/segmentation analysis), and conjoint and discrete choice analysis. Ability to apply techniques a plus, but not required.
  • Passionate about a data-driven approach and able to strategically draw out big picture correlations, predictions, and recommendations
