Reports To: Vice President, Supply Chain

What You Will Be Doing:

ChargePoint has been overhauling its supply chain and supply management systems as it enables massive scaling of EV charging and an audacious new products roadmap. The Senior Director, Materials Management is a new role partnering with ChargePoint’s VP of Supply Chain to take ChargePoint’s material management to the next level. As a senior leader, the Senior Director of Materials Management is responsible for ensuring continuous and efficient supply for all ChargePoint hardware programs worldwide. The Senior Director coordinates with S&OP leadership to establish appropriate inventory targets, owns factory production plans that support sales goals, and ensures that actual product output meets availability and landed cost commitments. As a group leader overseeing teams in material program management, production planning, and purchasing, the Senior Director sets operating standards, champions best practices, and deploys new tools across new product introduction (NPI) sourcing and sustaining production.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Can-do attitude and penchant for developing organizations and building bridges
  • Bias to action and intuitive use of data to drive decisions
  • Second-nature understanding of clear-to-build mechanics and how to develop scalable routines and tools for rapid assessments and action
  • NPI sourcing practices that increase efficiency and productivity across stakeholders company-wide
  • Leadership in material lifecycle management across internal prototyping to contract manufacturer NPI, ramp, sustaining, and end-of-life
  • Collaboration with Global Supply Management on supplier performance assessments
  • Partnership with Operations Program Management on planning and execution of material transitions for new site bring-ups and post-ramp qualifications (PRQs)
  • Deep-set attention to detail and willingness to drill down
  • Pride in effective reporting that makes the company smarter

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years experience in NPI and sustaining materials management, with at least 6 years at an industry-leading company
  • Demonstrated ability to advance a sourcing organization’s methods and systems
  • Expert knowledge of supply/demand planning, BOMs, inventory management, and sourcing of highly-custom materials
  • Understanding of manufacturing and international logistics
  • Fluent in hardware cost accounting and financial planning
  • Comfort in fast-paced environments with evolving roles and responsibility boundaries
  • Track record managing distributed, global supply networks supported by in-region team members
  • Razor-sharp ability to map specifics to big picture business implications
  • Masters degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, or operations strongly preferred
