In this role you will build and lead a dynamic advanced manufacturing function that partners with technical and business teams in the development and production ramping of innovative hardware products. You will foster a culture that rigorously solves complex and at times, open-ended problems and join the company’s Executive team, helping to shape overall business strategy, culture, and growth.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement a general manufacturing strategy that is harmonized with commercial objectives, supply chain, and product roadmap to bring Form Energy’s novel multi-day energy storage technology to market at scale, cost, and quality.
  • Lead the execution of defined manufacturing strategy.
  • Develop long-, medium-, and short-term programs, with plans and budgets to support the execution of the strategy.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage contract manufacturers to meet NPI and volume production requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships to accelerate timelines and minimize overall business risk.
  • Define and implement best practices for manufacturability assessment, design for manufacturing and assembly, manufacturing cost modeling, and manufacturing partner qualificationManage and oversee all operations of a low-volume, pilot manufacturing operation.

What you'll need:

  • B.S. or higher in engineering or physical science(s).
  • 15 years of experience (10 in a leadership role).
  • 10 years manufacturing and assembly experience of complex electromechanical products that rely on some core materials technology; experience should span both internally manufactured and contract manufactured assemblies, and include experience managing an operating line.

Experience

  • Manufacturing NPI and transition to high volume manufacturing. 
  • Management of an operating low volume / NPI-focused manufacturing operation.
  • Line design, installation, commissioning, and production ramp.
  • Management of custom equipment design and development internally and/or with equipment suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving down manufacturing costs while maintaining or improving product quality for complex electromechanical assemblies.
  • Experience managing distributed teams (nationally, internationally).
