The Role

At Motiv, we’ve taken a radically different approach to building electric trucks. Motiv has developed a line of all-electric medium-duty truck and bus chassis, our EPIC platform, which is used in many all-electric truck and bus applications.  We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic Chassis Senior Product Manager to join us in transforming an industry. In this position you will take direction from the Director of Product Management and your key responsibilities will include managing chassis to body integration requirements and owning technical relationships with partners. Your role will help define Motiv’s chassis products and contribute to our overall product roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear product requirements for chassis product lines
• Develop deep understanding of customer and partner needs through both direct interaction as well as feedback from Motiv’s Sales, Marketing, and Customer support teams
• Define roadmap and support releases of new chassis products and product configurations in collaboration with engineering, sales, manufacturing, support, and Body Partners
• Drive development and prioritization of vehicle accessory specifications such as HVAC systems, wheel chair lifts, etc.
• Work closely with Body Partners to develop body-to-chassis interface specifications and identify new chassis applications
• Create and refine sales tools and technical collateral including product configuration tools, datasheets, etc.
• Conduct competitive and market analysis to provide input to Motiv’s overall product roadmap
• Gather feedback from manufacturing, customer support, and external partners to facilitate closed loop learning in our product development efforts
• Understand evolving market and compliance requirements to ensure Motiv’s product offering complies with applicable standards
• Domestic Travel as required to up to 25% 

Required Experience and Skills

• BS in technical field, preferably electrical or mechanical engineering; MBA is a plus
• Minimum 5 years electric vehicle or chassis product management, or 5+ years in vehicle development
• Past experience in leading businesses, projects, or product development where collaboration across departments was critical to success
• Demonstrated ability in market analysis, business evaluation, and driving business decisions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to influence and work with all levels of an organization
• Solid technical foundation, ability to learn and adapt quickly
• Experience supporting customers in an external facing role
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a “can do” attitude
• Automotive experience preferred; EV experience a plus
