Within Cruise, the Product Engineering - Quality team provides ground-up solutions to improve the quality of our organization’s products and services, either through solving an individual quality challenge or driving department wide improvements. The team works on high-impact products and services, such as web tools to accelerate the rate of AV software development, and consumer-facing mobile applications that facilitate a scalable ride hail service.

For this role, we are seeking software engineers with a passion for software quality.

What you’ll be doing:

  • 70% of your time will be spent writing code that improves the quality of our web applications, mobile products, and backend services
  • Advocating for quality during the entire software development life cycle, choosing the optimal testing techniques and tools to solve complex problems
  • Developing cross-product testing programs and infrastructure that allow us to measure product quality

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of development experience as a Software Engineer
  • Excellent programming skills in Typescript, Kotlin, Javascript / Node.js or Python
  • Experience developing for web or mobile applications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Passionate about product quality and being a strong advocate for the end user
  • Passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world

Bonus points for being familiar with:

  • React ecosystem or other web frontend frameworks
  • Building analytics to help drive feature development
  • Microservices architecture (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Pipelines
  • Logging, monitoring, and alerting strategies in order to maintain SLAs
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Testing mobile hardware

*While this team largely sits in the SF bay and Seattle areas, we are open to remote employees who can work anywhere within the United States of America*
