Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

As a business operations intern you will have the opportunity to work within the corporate service teams that focus on providing efficient and effective support services that are critical to business operations.   Depending on your background you may be considered for our People Operations team, Financial team, Legal team, or IT team. With these teams, you will have the opportunity to explore employer branding and people strategies, financial planning and management, legal rules and regulations, and network and cybersecurity standards. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an intern within one of our corporate service teams,  your day-to-day experiences may include; 

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with 3Degrees teams across the company.
  • Explore and utilize technology systems and tools for onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement. 
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, automation, and data flow.
  • Complete analysis of employee expenditures.
  • Support the management of income and expenditure accounts.
  • Participate in generating the company's financial reporting using income and expenditure data.
  • Contribute to projects that relate to state and/or federal regulatory issues affecting the energy industry.
  • Produce written work product subject to our confidentiality restrictions.
  • Support the drafting of contractual amendments for domestic and international enterprise customers.
  • Be a champion of our core values and integrate them into our day-to-day people decisions
  • Organize and maintain reporting dashboards and provide insights to key stakeholders.
     

 

WHAT WE SEEK FROM YOU

Each of our business operations teams require unique qualifications that may include certain areas of study or experience.  We will look to pair you with a team that best aligns with your background.  Some of the qualifications we will be looking for include; 

  • BA/BS, Masters degree, or pursuing a degree in a relevant discipline such as business administration, interdisciplinary studies, organizational management, finance, accounting, marketing, communications or information technology.  Legal interns must have completed at least 1-year of law school.
  • Detailed-oriented even when working on a fast-paced team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience building and delivering presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Experience performing structured tasks in an efficient and consistent manner.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. advanced functions such as pivot tables, conditional formatting, and advanced filtering/sorting). 
  • Some teams will look for SQL or Access database knowledge
  • Familiarity with online accounting software; such as Xero, Expensify or similar
