Job Description

Indigo improves grower profitability, environmental sustainability, and consumer health using natural microbiology and digital technologies. Utilizing beneficial plant microbes and agronomic insights, Indigo works with growers to sustainably produce high quality harvests. The company then connects growers and buyers directly to bring these harvests to market. The Strategic Risk & Grain Marketing Analyst (SRGMA) works with Indigo’s Grain Marketing Advisory (GMA) partners to identify and execute better grain marketing decisions through Indigo’s Grain Marketplace (Marketplace).  The SRGMA is responsible for understanding the GMA Advisors’ client-based objectives, market assumptions, and organizational capabilities to recommend grain marketing strategies and how to implement them using Indigo’s marketing tools in Marketplace.  The SRGMA will also work closely with the Indigo GMA Account Management team to provide grain marketing guidance, coaching, and education to ensure that Indigo is providing its GMA partners with an excellent customer experience.

Key Outcomes

Grain Marketing Expertise

  • Align with a deep understanding of Indigo GMA Advisor Partners and their clients in both current structure and long-term vision
  • Continuously develop market insights by studying futures and cash grain markets and assigned GMA account marketing strategies

Partner Success

  • Create GMA Advisor-specific Marketplace transaction product recommendations using Indigo’s premium pricing product portfolio
  • Represent Indigo as the subject matter expert for all Marketplace transactions for our GMA partners by developing strong working relationships with the external GMA advisors and continuously developing individualized marketing plans

Strategic Planning

  • Speak with GMA Advisors about the markets and Marketplace transaction product recommendations
  • Participate in weekly planning sessions with the internal Indigo GMA Account Managers to achieve GMA specific goals and metrics and ensure alignment with quarterly and yearly goals

Execution

  • Execute on transaction opportunity leads from GMA advisors by finding proper buyer and/or transport options to meet price targets
  • Help GMA execute marketing tools through Marketplace
  • Drive better grain marketing decisions through value based selling principles
  • Achieve growth targets through transactions and marketing tool attachments

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agribusiness, or agricultural economics with a record of strong academic achievement
  • 5-7 years of grain marketing and risk management experience
  • Detailed knowledge of grain futures and options markets, as well as associated OTC derivative products
  • Trade Desk / trading experience a plus
