About This Role

The Operations Engineering Intern will work with the Operations Engineering Team to create training materials and presentations, standard operating procedures, and other technical documents that support Apeel’s Field Operations. In this role the intern will work with other Engineering Team members to understand critical field processes and equipment; identify methods and procedures to ensure reliability, safety, and required performance; and then create the documentation required to standardize and train our employees across sites. The intern may also support reliability investigations and corrective action procedures by helping analyze and report on field reliability data.

What You’ll Do

• Work with Operations Engineering and Field Operations Team members to identify gaps in our maintenance and training procedures 
• Create an action plan and project timeline for the summer that identifies the procedures and training documents to be created
• Collaborate with on-site team members to gather the pictures, videos, and necessary information required
• Write, review, pilot, and then publish the new procedures and documents
• Work with the Field Operations Administrator to identify training requirements on the new documents for field staff and set them up in our Litmos training system
• Keep the Engineering team and other groups updated on project progress through regular status updates

What You Bring

• Are currently pursuing an AA, AS, BA or BS degree
• High attention to detail and natural organizational ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Strong work ethic
• Experience with Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint, data analysis tools
• Enthusiasm to work within a high growth startup company and the desire to learn from more experienced Operations (Mechanical/Electrical) engineers
• Previous experience working in an industrial setting is a plus
