We need you to solve this crisis! To that end, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and mission-aligned Senior Scientist to join the Product Development and Commercialization team. You and your team will lead the development and commercialization of multiple new product introductions from pilot stage through full manufacturing scale. 

You Will

  • Lead large teams responsible for scale up and technology transfers from R&D and pilot plant to Manufacturing plants
  • Plan and execute pilot plant trials for process development, specification development, and sample generation
  • Design and lead manufacturing plant scale trials for new product start ups
  • Coordinate cross-functional technical efforts, organize meetings, and facilitate knowledge transfer and decision making
  • Expect to work on multiple projects simultaneous and adhere to fast timelines
  • Participate in the design of new products, including interpreting customer needs and assembling input from cross-functional teams to determine the manufacturing process, site, and product specifications
  • This position may manage people. Mentoring and coaching all junior team members is expected
  • Up to 30% travel may be required
  • Other duties as assigned

You Have

  • MS/PhD in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or similar field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience scaling up new technologies in support of food product commercialization and process development
  • Strong problem solver with extensive use of the scientific method as well as creative problem solving and experimental design
  • Direct experience leading projects that are large and complex in nature
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic team
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
